Salvarision Castle City
Spoiler
The city that grew up next to Castle Salvarision, which is located on the shore of the lake north of the capital of Lescatie, is called "Castle City Salvarision". "Castle Salvarision is the headquarters of the Order of the Ice Flower, led by the strongest hero of Lescatie, Wilmarina Noscrim, it is the largest military base in Lescatie. In addition to Wilmarina, who is the symbol of Lescatie, those who are fit to serve beside her are gathered there: selected to an extremely high standard by the best of Lescatie's military forces, from soldiers to knights to heroes. Beside them, many of the blacksmiths and merchants from all over Lescatie, engaged in weapons and armor, fill the city. The mostly educated inhabitants who lived there said that the city's appearance was rich and beautiful, and that the security of the city was very good. Salvarision is a city that was created for the Order of the Holy Ice Flower, or, to put it another way, for Wilmarina. This unconventional facility, given to a single hero, shows how much influence Wilmarina had as a hero and how much the proud Noscrim family in Lescatie flourished.
Meanwhile, the city, which gathered the children of the powerful belonging to the Noscrim faction, was also the site of a power struggle waged between authoritative priests and aristocrats. Life in the castle has always been controlled by those in power, which seems to have made some people feel stuffy in the castle, while others stayed only because of their own appreciation of the rulers or the state. Salvarision's own appearance gave the same cold impression, it seemed as if the castle, surrounded by water, was isolated.
In addition, the upper level of the castle was reserved exclusively for Wilmarina, and only those deemed suitable for her and chosen by priest Noscrim were allowed to visit it. It is not difficult to guess that the sturdy castle played the role of a restraint for those close to Wilmarina and was also a prison for her.
The Demonic City of Salvarision
Spoiler
Salvarision, which fell at the hands of Wilmarina, who became a monster, became a mamono realm along with Fallen Lescatie. Those who used the city as a place to fight for power disappeared, and the Dark Heroes and Dark Knights turned it into a magical city where they brought their husbands and loved ones. Wilmarina and her husband have spent a lot of time changing the style of the city where they like to spend their sweet time, and making it different from the red-shaded capital. It's a place where you can safely meet mamono who have already found their husbands, and after the daytime hours, when the monsters go to bed, you can hear how passionately the city's married couples are making out with each other. Although the town is still a stronghold for the Knights' order, some of the training grounds have been transformed into resting places for Mamono to meet and mingle with their husbands, and the trained Knights simply talk to their loved ones. There is also a growing number of stores in town for the enjoyment of couples. Stores that used to sell armor are now visited as if they were clothing stores, since for the mamono knights the armor they wear is more for seducing people than for fighting. You can even see the Dark Knight together with her husband picking out her favorite armor for him.
The red moon rises over the lake surrounding Castle Salvarision, and its light merges with the powerful magical energy of Wilmarina flowing from the castle, resembling little ice crystals shining with red lights in the air. Mysterious and beautiful magical lights move beside the monsters, illuminating the surroundings of the lake and maintaining a faint sense of lust - the perfect mood for couples to have a date. Castle Salvarision, which was once a prison, has now become a love nest for Wilmarina and her husband, while the upper level of the castle has remained unchanged as the bedroom exclusively for Wilmarina and her darling. The castle seems to have an enchanted room with a portal connected to the royal castle in Lescatie, so that Wilmarina and her lover can travel freely between Salvarision and the capital.

About Salvarision (retranslation)

Post by Spore »

I truck along like a Translation Terminator, implacable in my duties.

Once again, it's important to note that, like SGI: Dragonia, there's a distinct change in narrator, and therefore what role the audience plays, signified by the usages of plain and distal form. The plain text operates on two valences: the first is, as it was in SGI, a sign that the text is being written by the apprentice. The second, and most likely less important as it's only for that section, is the profiles. I'll get more into that in the next post. With that being said, this section, and more sections after it are written in the distal style; what can be inferred, then, as it was in SGI, is that these are in-text written documents intended for the direct audience of a tourist. The Japanese language is a complex one indeed!

Anyway, on we go!

The Fortress City of Salvarision
Spoiler
Just to the north of the former Theocracy of Lescatie’s capital city lay “the fortress city of Salvarision”, a city that radiates out like spokes on a wheel from its hub, the Castle Salvarision, built on a lakeshore. The castle was the headquarters of Lescatie’s Knights of the Holy Ice Flower, an elite order of knights led by the mighty hero Wilmarina Noscrim, and the largest military base in both scope and scale in the entire country.

Along with housing Wilmarina, the very symbol of Lescatie herself, those deemed worthy of serving by her side also gathered there— it was the apex of the nation’s military, and those assembled were of an extremely high caliber, from the rank and file soldiers, to the knights, to the heroes. In addition, with the constant traffic of arms and armor merchants as well as smiths, it also became one of the busiest cities in Lescatie. It is said that the cityscape was lush and lavish, leading to cultured residents and impeccable public safety. Salvarision was a city created for the sake of the Knights of the Holy Ice Flower, which is to say, Lady Wilmarina— an extraordinary thing to be bestowed upon a single hero. This only goes to show just how great a presence she was in Lescatie, and just how prominent the Noscrim family was in equal measure.

Yet at the very same time, this city, where the sons and daughters of the most influential members of the Noscrim faction came together, was also the perfect stage for the power struggles that swirled around the schemes and intrigue of priests and aristocrats. Living in the castle was akin to being perpetually surveilled and scrutinized by Lescatie’s elite, and there were those who found it suffocating. When viewed from that perspective, the castle, surrounded on all sides by the lake, brought to mind the cold impression of being completely isolated.

Moreover, the castle’s upper levels were reserved for Wilmarina’s private use— the only people allowed to visit her were those worthy, as decided by Father Noscrim. Indeed, it hardly takes much imagination to see the impregnable castle, largely serving to limit the people that could approach Wilmarina, was like a prison to the hero.

The Dark Citadel of Salvarision
Spoiler
Salvarision fell at the hands of Lady Wilmarina herself after she became a monster— the great fortress city became a mamono realm along with the rest of Lescatie. All those who turned the city into a battlefield for their own petty politics were thoroughly eliminated, and it transformed into a vibrant monster city where dark braves and knights could bring their husbands and lovers as they pleased.

The city, reconstructed to the whims of Lady Wilmarina in order for her to spend the sweetest time with her husband, is not quite the unabashed red-light district of the royal capital, but rather, a place where monsters who have already found husbands of their own can relax and make love as they please. They say that around the time the city’s inma head off to bed, the only thing one can hear is the sweet voices of men and women making love to one another.

The city being fundamentally constructed for the knighthood has not changed, but a portion of the former training grounds has been reappropriated as places for monsters to meet clandestinely with their husbands and make love— and it isn’t a particularly rare sight to see knights who are done with their day’s training immediately begin another sort of workout with their beloveds. In addition, along with a growing number of establishments made for couples to enjoy, due to the fact that, for a monster knight, their very armor is less for protection in battle than it is a garment worn to seduce men, the former armor shops are now treated much like clothing stores. One can often see dark knights asking their husbands to pick out the armor they’d like them to wear.

As the red moon shines over the the lakeshore that surrounds Castle Salvarision, Lady Wilmarina’s potent mana seeps out of the castle, taking the form of beautiful and delicate ice crystals that sparkle and shine in the crimson moonlight. Filled with a bewitching beauty, merely approaching the lake will expose one to this mana and evoke a faintly lascivious feeling, and it’s become the ideal date spot for monster couples and their rendezvous.

Castle Salvarision, once Lady Wilmarina’s prison, is now her love nest; the upper levels, however, have not changed at all, and remain exclusively for her and her husband’s use as a bedroom. What’s more, there are very credible rumors that Castle Salvarision has a magic portal connecting it to Lescatie’s royal castle— it seems that Lady Wilmarina and her beloved use it to come and go from Salvarision to the capital as they please.
