Hey you! Yeah, you over there! Come train with me a bit. What, it'll probably only just be a little painful.

What? You're afraid? Don't say such boring things! Haven't I told you? One for all, now let's go!
Spoiler
The best shooter among the heroes of Lescatie, belonging to the [[Ice Flower Knight Order|Order of the Ice Flower]], and one of the fearless Three Musketeers of Lescatie. Paula was the daughter of one of the local aristocrats, who originally owned poor lands, and initially was the head of the local detachment of law enforcement. Although she is not good at thinking about difficult things, she is good at controlling her body, and has nimble and strong hands. On the recommendation of [[Wilmarina Noscrim|Wilmarina]], she was recognized as having the quality of a [[hero]] and joined the Order of the Ice Flower. Thanks to the salary as a member of the Order of the Ice Flower and the money she received from her work as a hero, she was able to preserve her patrimonial possessions, which had been suffering from poverty until recently. She deeply respects Wilmarina and is sincerely grateful to her for her assistance.

Paula wasn't good at thinking deeply, but every time people said to her, "You seem lucky because you don't seem to have any worries," a pain ran through her chest. Despite the fact that she was the daughter of an aristocrat, Paula did not understand politics at all and had no appropriate education. Paula was convinced of the impossibility of a struggle for power and considered the subordination of the Order of the Ice Flower of the Church to be natural. She also did not understand the natural rivalry between the various noble families and also the king of Lescatie, with whose management in one way or another they were not satisfied.

Recently, she noticed the suffering of Wilmarina when she was looking at a young soldier who had recently been appointed to a new post. At times like these, Paula worries about how she can help, but when she asks her best friend, Alameria, who is also one of the "Three Musketeers of Lescatier," she is told that it is an unrequited love between people of different social classes, and when she asks Olivie, another of the Three Musketeers, she simply brushes it off by saying, "The best thing to do is to watch over them." Why are people who love each other not allowed to be together? If she liked him, shouldn't she just tell him straightforwardly? Questions like these floated in and out of her head.

To be honest, Paula didn't think the church's teaching that monsters are absolutely evil is correct. It's understandable that monsters that attacked humans were dangerous, as the church said, but there were humans who attacked others too, and at times Paula had teamed up with monsters to protect her territory and drive away bandits, so it seemed to her that the monsters she had seen were not always ones that brought harm to humans.

What is justice? What is right? Today, too, Paula was gripping her gun and trying to find her own answer.Wasn't Alameria their companion, did she not fight with them until now? If she's a monster, then the harm she caused to this country is minimal. For Paula, who did not immediately begin to understand the glorious knights of the Ice Flower at the beginning of her career as a hero, as she was used to communicating with ordinary people covered in mud and grass, Alameria became the first "Friend", because of her friendly attitude to everyone around her. She was also a "comrade" and lent her a reliable shoulder during especially difficult missions. And simply because she is a monster, she will be executed. Paula, who could not accept the situation and repeatedly pressed Priest Noscrim, also found herself taken under house arrest.

Ahh, you, if I look closely, you look pretty good♥

Hey, will you go o-out w-with...

Uuu, t-this is embarrassing...!
Damn it... why, why? My breasts have become hot...♥
Spoiler
Yes, Paula was not too smart, she did not know the will of the Chief Goddess dominating Lescatie, or the political currents. After being arrested, left alone, she could not think of anything else than the correctness of Lescatie, trying to execute Alameria, her best friend, and the world order that caused it. None of this Paula could understand at all.

Exhausted from walking in circles without an answer, she again thought about how to deprive herself of the status of a hero. But if she ceases to be a hero, how will she be treated in her hometown? Paula knew very well that because of her being a Hero, her territories receive great benefits from the great kingdom of Lescatie. In addition, it was worth considering that Wilmarina - a hero that she immensely respected and admired, as well as Paula, could not just drop the title of hero. Although she herself doubted that she could call herself so.

On the night of the execution of Alameria, in Paula's room, where she was caught in the maze of her unrequited thoughts, a white-haired succubus appeared, the daughter of the Mamono Lord, Druella, one of Lilims. Although Paula easily identified the monstrous appearance of one of the supreme rulers of monsters, which should be a natural enemy of humanity, but in a calm manner of behavior, friendly attitude and words in which there was no threat, Paula saw glimpses of "deep love" directed towards people. Exactly the same as Paula has to her friends and everyone in her home town. Paula did not need any additional words. She always fought for them all. Due to the fact that the people of her native land were being attacked by robbers, she led the created detachment of guards and fought for a just cause, because she wanted to protect them all. For the sake of Wilmarina, whom she admired, Paula fought now in Lescatie, for the sake of Alameria and Olivie - her friends. This is not because of the correctness of Lescatie and the will of the Chief God, which she could never understand and which she did not consider. It was because of her suffering that she listened to the words of the snow-white succubus.

"Now you must do what you want. That's all."

These words had sunk into Paula's soul, she has ceased to think deeply and began to work on escape. The place where the execution of Alameria was to be held, for some reason was classified, but, picking herself up, the girl found that she could follow her smell. When she reached the iron door of the place of execution and noticed the soldier guarding her, she discarded all her meditations, all indecision, completely cleared her mind and attacked. Thus, she became a monster and even now, when Lescatie has become a mamono realm, she is still considered a "Dark Heroine". Now she has become free from past problems and is only concerned with what she herself would like to do, actively relying on her instincts. Together with her friends, who also became monsters, she usually performs non-straining missions in the Fallen Lescatie.

Although Paula relaxed and suppressed her instincts for a while, she completely became a mamono. Recently, at the sight of her friends Alameria and Olivie, she was very envious, seeing the mutual love between them and their husbands. She also wanted to get herself a husband, as she herself desired, making attacks and showing men her intentions. When she enters the battle, she demonstrates her courageous but rude character. However, when she meets a serious man, Paula's body and mind no longer move as freely as before: bashfully looking at the opponent, she can only playfully stroke her breasts. Because of her essence, she was reborn as a monster-cowboy, Holstaur, because even though she was famous for her heroic courage from the group of the Three Musketeers, she remained in the depths of her soul an ordinary girl dreaming of a cozy home. And together with the friends who support her, she is looking for her beloved.

Ugh...

While working on text clean up on the wiki, I feed the scan through Google Translate and noticed that Ami cut a whole paragraph off. Paula, despite not being a bright girl, was actually question the Church's teaching about all monsters are evil while she was still a human.

Here's unmodified machine translation, the missing part is bolded by me.
tough musketeer

Paula Trommel

Among the brave warriors belonging to the Saint Ice Flower Knights of Lescatier, she is one of the three valiant Musketeers of Lescatier. Paula was originally the only daughter of a local nobleman who ruled over a poor territory, and was the leader of a vigilante group led by herself.

Although she is not good at thinking about difficult things, she is good at moving her body and is strong, and at Wilmarina's recommendation, she was recognized as having the qualities of a great hero and joined the Ice Flower Knights. Thanks to the allowance she received from her salary as a member of the Holy Ice Flower Knights and the bounty money she received from her work as a hero, her territory, which had been suffering from poverty until recently, was saved, so she feels a deep gratitude, debt of gratitude, and respect for Wilmarina for picking her up.

Paula wasn't good at thinking deeply, but every time people said to her, "You seem lucky because you don't seem to have any worries," a pain ran through her heart.

Although she was, in a roundabout way, the daughter of a noble family, and she was well aware that she lacked education, there were some aspects of the power struggles that naturally dominated the Holy Ice Flower Knights, the ties between noble families, and the logic that was taken for granted in Lescatier that Paula just couldn't accept.

I knew that recently, my respected Lady Wilmarina had been glancing at a young soldier who had just been assigned to her position and feeling troubled.

At times like these, Paula worries about how she can help, but when she asks her best friend, Arameria, who is also one of the "Three Musketeers of Lescatier," she is told that it is an unrequited love between people of different social classes, and when she asks Olivier, another of the Three Musketeers, he simply brushes it off by saying, "The best thing to do is to watch over them." Why are people who love each other not allowed to be together?

If she liked him, shouldn't she just tell him in words? Questions like these floated in and out of her head.

To be honest, Paula didn't think the cult's teaching that monsters were absolutely evil was correct.

It was understandable that monsters that attacked humans were dangerous, as the cult said, but there were humans who attacked others too, and at times Paula had teamed up with monsters to protect her territory and drive away bandits, so it seemed to her that the monsters she had seen were not always ones that brought harm to humans.

What is justice? What is right? Today, too, Paula was gripping her gun and trying to find her own answer.

A decisive moment fell on Paula's mind when her best friend, Arameria, was accused of being a demon and the decision was made to execute her.

"Arameria is one of our friends, right?!"

Isn't Arameria an important ally who has fought alongside them up until now? Even if she is a monster, the contributions she has made to this country are not small.

Having spent her life covered in grass and mud with the people of the territory, Paula had a hard time initially getting used to being treated as a hero and joining the glamorous Holy Ice Flower Knights. However, Arameria, who spoke to her in a friendly manner, was her first "friend," and also a "comrade-in-arms" she trusted more than anyone else, sometimes completing difficult missions alongside her.

Just because he was a monster, he was executed.

Paula, who could not accept the situation and repeatedly pressed Bishop Northcrim, also found herself being suspended before she knew it.

Alright, I updated her human's part. Since I don't trust machine translation much either, I only changed the part which make little sense, too contrast, or the machine translation seems to explain it clearer. I think a good chunk of the second paragraph is still wrong, but since the machine translation is just confusing, I leave it as is for now.

Paula Tronmail (retranslation)

Post by Spore »

Hello gang! Another retranslation charging your way, this time for the dumb muscle Paula Tronmail. Like Aramelia, her name is also a reference to one of Dumas's Muskeeteers— this time, it's Porthos, the id of the trio, the most physically massive and powerful, as well as the simplest in nature. Written "Porutosu" in Japanese, it's reflected in Paula's name, "Pōra Toronmeiru", by the "po + 'r' sound" and "to" of her surname. I'm not 100% on "Tronmail" as the best romanization of トロンメイル, but I also can't think of anything better, and therefore have no real reason to change it.

I also want to note that for these translations, I've been tweaking the tenses used, mostly for the Part I's of each profile, so that they're entirely in the past tense. The actual Japanese flips between past and present in a weirdly inconsistent way, so I've done this in order to preserve logical flow and readability as opposed to strict literalism.

Onto the show!

Mighty Musketeer
Paula Tronmail
“Oi, you! Yeah, you over there! Come train with me for a while. C’mooon, it’ll only hurt a little bit! Huh? ‘Apologies, milady'?1 I told you to cut that pompous crap! It’s just like I always say, right? It’s one for all, now let’s go!”
Spoiler
Yet another hero in Knights of the Holy Ice Flower, and a dauntless and resolute member of the Three Musketeers of Lescatie. Paula was the only daughter of a local noble family that ruled over a poor fiefdom, and the elected leader of the vigilante committee. While not terribly suited for pondering particularly complicated subjects, she excels in most physical activity and is quite strong; upon Wilmarina’s recommendation, she was recognized for her having many qualities of a strong hero, which led to her joining the Knights of the Holy Ice Flower. Using her remittance from the exclusive order, as well as the reward money for her heroic deeds, Paula was able to save her home province, which had struggled in the throes of poverty until very recently, and because of that, she feels tremendous gratitude and obligation, as well as respect, towards Wilmarina, who had given her the opportunity.

Paula was by no means a philosopher, but nevertheless, every time those around her said to her, “must be great to not have any worries, huh?”, she felt a sharp sting in her chest. Although fully aware that, despite her (perhaps strictly technical) status as the daughter of an aristocrat, she lacked any sort of real refinement, there were many aspects of life in Lescatie that Paula simply could not accept that others took for granted, such as the power struggles that controlled the Holy Ice Flower as if it were a matter of course, and the complex web of obligations and ambitions spun between the noble families.

She had noticed that, recently, Lady Wilmarina had been making fleeting glances at a young soldier who had only just been assigned to his post and seemed troubled. At those times, Paula stewed over whether or not she could be of any help, but when she asked Aramelia, another one of the Three Musketeers and her best friend, she would simply say that it was just another ill-starred romance divided by social class— attempting to asking Olivier, the third member of their trio, only led to her avoiding the question with “it’s best to simply watch over her”. Why can’t those who love each other just be together? If you like someone, why can’t you just tell them so? Questions like these floated into Paula’s head, before fading away once more.

In all honesty, from the very beginning, Paula also could never put much stock in the Order’s dogma, the notion that monsters were beings of absolute evil. It was perfectly reasonable to her that such a thing could be true of the monsters that did attack humans, as the Order said, but even among humans, there are those who will attack others— Paula had even fought alongside monsters in the past in order to drive away bandits and protect her fiefdom, and those temporary comrades never necessarily struck her as those who would only ever do harm to humans. What is justice? What is right? That day, as always, Paula clutched her signature gun and set out, trying to find her own answers.

The final shadow on Paula’s mind, overtaxed as it already was by thought, fell when her dearest friend Aramelia was accused of being a monster, and the decision was made that she would be executed.

Isn’t Aramelia our friend?!

Wasn’t Aramelia a precious comrade, did she not share many battles with them until now? Even supposing she was a monster, the contributions she made to this country were not few. For Paula, who had spent her days caked in mud and grass alongside the people of her fiefdom and still not accustomed to being treated as a hero, or the bright and brilliant Knights of the Holy Ice Flower, Aramelia, the first to strike up a conversation with her as if they were already close, was her first true friend, and a sister-in-arms who carried out difficult missions with by her side, who she trusted more than anyone else.

And now, she was to be executed, simply because she was a monster.

Paula, refusing to accept this dire news, repeatedly butted heads with Father Noscrim on the matter, but before she knew it, she was met with a punishment of her own: suspended from all duties as a hero.

Translation Notes:
Paula uses the first-person pronoun あたし instead of 私, and I think is the only character I've translated so far for MGE who has done so, which is honestly kind of surprising. I was taking her as more of an うち girl. あたし is more... "cute/girly". If anyone'd use あたし, it'd be Parche.
1: 畏れ多い is an apologetic phrase to a superior, and the use of the 畏 kanji here marks it as especially... social status gap-y. The point is that she hates that you're talking at her like she's a huge deal.
Smoldering Magic Bullet
Holstaur Paula
“Hey, you— when I get a good look atcha, you look pretty nice ♥ You wanna, uh, g-go, go, go out w— s-seriously?! Dammit… why, why does my chest keep getting hot… ♥”
Spoiler
Paula was not terribly smart. She didn’t understand the will of the gods that dominated Lescatie, nor anything of its politics. After her suspension, no matter how much she tried to rack her brain over it all by herself, she couldn’t begin to comprehend how there could be any righteousness in Lescatie trying to execute her best friend Aramelia, or what sort of order would be brought about in the world as a result.

Completely exhausted by thinking herself into circles with no answers in sight, Paula had came back to the thought of relinquishing her title of “hero” outright multiple times— but if she were to do that, what would become of her cherished hometown? She knew fully well that the fiefdom thrived on the largesse of Lescatie solely because of her status. Above anything else, when she thought of Wilmarina, the great hero who had risen her up from where she was, to whom she owed so much and respected deeply, Paula realized that, even though she was having her doubts about what it meant to be a “hero”, she knew she simply couldn’t just throw her title away.

On the night of Aramelia’s execution, someone appeared in front of Paula, imprisoned in a labyrinth of her own restless, meandering thoughts: a white-winged1 inma, a lilim, one of the daughters of the Mamono Lord herself named Druella. Initially, Paula made no attempt to hide her hostility— her nighttime visitor possessed the most power of any monster, and was considered the natural enemy of humanity. But yet, Druella was calm, collected, and even amicable, and in her words and demeanor Paula caught a glimpse of a deep love for humans, the same love she herself held for her friends and the people of her hometown.

This only further confused her.

She had always been fighting for everyone else’s sake. She formed the vigilante committee because of the bandits plaguing the people of her fiefdom, she became its leader because she held them all so dear (it helped, of course, that she had an aptitude for combat). Even now, here in Lescatie, she fought, all for Lady Wilmarina and her friends Aramelia and Olivier— not for some incomprehensible god’s will, or the almighty righteousness of Lescatie. Still lost in the quagmire of her worries, the white-winged fiend whispered to her.

Just do what you want to do most— here, in the moment.

These words lifted a great and heavy weight on Paula’s heart; she immediately stopped thinking, and before she knew it, she had broken into a run. For some reason, she could clearly map out by scent where Aramelia was to be executed, despite the fact that the location was strictly confidential. Her eyes may have taken in the execution site’s impenetrable iron door and the soldiers guarding it, but sure enough, in that moment her head was completely devoid of thought— she simply used the horns that had sprouted unnoticed on her head to send everything standing in her way flying.

Having become a monster, she lives to this very day in Lescatie, now fully a mamono realm, as a “dark brave”— and this time, she lives exactly how she wants to, doing what she pleases, and following her instincts. Free from her troubles and doubts, she spends her days with her friends, who have all become monsters just as she has, relaxing in the decadently corrupt mamono realm nation of Lescatie.

For a while, Paula lived as her instincts told her to, leading a terribly self-indulgent life, but as of late, since she was now a monster, body and soul, the sight of her friends Aramelia and Olivier being so physically intimate with their own partners has made the holstaur quite envious. She wants to get herself a man, too— do whatever she pleases, attack him, violate him, and make him hers. Once an encounter began, however, and she actually found herself face to face with a human man, her body and mind no longer obeyed her as they had before, and all she could do was fidget in front of him and play with her now-massive breasts.

She became the cow monster known as the holstaur due to her inborn nature, and while on one hand she’s known as the most dauntless fighter of the Three Musketeers, she’s also their latest bloomer and most hopeless romantic. These days, her friends are cheering her on in her dream to find love.

Translation Notes:
1: This is something really interesting that is impossible to really convey in English: every other profile refers to Druella as 白淫魔. The き is the classical/archaic adjective marker. For Paula's, and Paula's alone, it's 白淫魔, which is the modern way. I can't help but think this is a deliberate choice that coincides with the fact that Paula isn't, y'know, the brightest, and is probably the most likely to speak plainly.

She's full of irony, isn't she? Being a noblewoman from a rural village (presumely the same village where they found the mana guns) and a muscle head, yet she has clear feminine side and enough life experience to question the Church's doctrine. Not to mention being the only real gunslinger among the three.

My impression is that she isn't dumb, just simple mind and less educated than the city girls. I won't surprised if she's actually a fast learner than most.
